Once, it was clear.
Once, it was pure.
Decades of hands and fingers, have left it covered in tarnish.
Dip it in the solvent.
Let it sit and soak.
Decades of soil will wash away, and you shall find the most precious gift of all.

I close my eyes and the world falls asleep,
As my world awakes.
The sun shines, the birds sing, and you are here with me.
We stand besides the shore in a soft embrace.
Then in the countryside we lie.
Your eyes take me to a field of emerald green, then a river runs,
But it comes from me.
It flows because of the beauty of this place,
And of you.
It flows because when the sun sets, the fields will be gone forever.
I close my eyes and deeply breathe, savoring,
Then, you are gone.
The sun sets, and as the world awakes,
My nightmare begins.
De L’obscurité
Of darkness we were taught to fear,
To close our eyes and shed some tears,
But now after all these years,
With darkness I’ve fallen in love.
With the sun the harshest light,
It burns my skin and lessens my sight,
Do not argue; you know this is right,
Darkness, me it moves.
Soft is the air, when the cool darkness surrounds,
Listen, it makes the most beautiful sounds,
When silence is all around,
Nyx, the best gift of a merciful Jove.
Stick my head in the sand if it is peaceful there,
Close my eyes to the world if I’ll have not a care,
Shut my ears to the sound if all they do is swear,
With darkness I’ve fallen in love.
